Why and How to Get Rid of Clutter?

We hate it when everything is the same, yet we don’t really want anything to change. For change is preceded by loss that is of course followed by grief that constitutes of regret, disappointment, anger, sadness, fear etc amongst many other difficult feelings.

Comfort has never been as important as it is nowadays with most people staying at home on the long term. Ensuring that our safe environment is well-padded with lots of unnecessary stuff disguised as essential tools in a futile attempt to take better care of ourselves whilst fearing the future.

 

Comforting services, experiences and products are being pushed up on us with empty promises of beauty, safety, security, love, success and fulfilment. Our homes and minds are perhaps more cluttered than ever.

What would happen if we got rid of all the stuff we don’t really need and with that all the negative feelings and emotions would go too?

It has to be a process, a slow, gradual letting go of the old and making space for all the good to come into our lives.

​

How do we know what’s really essential with a real meaning, value and purpose and what is that we need to say good bye to forever?

​

It is a good idea to start by writing down your personal values. This will create the structure for your new life. Whatever does not align with your values must go. Even if it’s a person.

​

Just think about how that object, friend, family member or colleague make you feel. Is it worth to keep them?

​

Change is very hard to digest, yet, required for growth.

​
